List #14...Away We Go

Hey there, everyone! Sam here!

This week my family and I are leaving for vacation! WOO! In just a few short hours we'll all be hitting the road and heading for the Great Smoky Mountains and Tennessee. I've only ever driven through them before so I'm excited to see what's in store for us the next five days. In honor of our trip I thought this week's list would be vacation themed, so here we go!

Sam's Vacation/Road Trip Essentials
  • Tunes...what's a road trip without music?!
  • Family...this year is especially exciting because some of the cousins are coming along
  • Snacks...Gotta have things to snack on while you drive, my favorite road trip snacks are Sour Patch Kids and Twizzlers
  • Camera...don't want to miss a moment
  • Books...always need something to read at the end of the day to wind down with
  • Comfy shoes...lots of hiking to be had on this trip
  • Sense of adventure...Adventure is out there! And I intend to find it.
  • A beautiful dress...never know when it will come in handy!
  • An open mind...when on vacation in a new place it is essential to try new things
I know this week's list is a little short compared to most, but I still have lots of packing to finish! Wish me luck! I'll see you all next week with lots of pictures to share! Happy Trails!

List #13...Always Room for Improvement

Hey there, everybody! Sam here!

For this week's list (I know it's a little late, but better late than never, right?) I thought I'd touch on the subject of improvement. After all, no one on this planet is perfect and we could all always use a little improvement in our lives, whether that be improving ourselves, or the people and places and things around us. It's important to learn to love yourself, but it's also important to know your weaknesses and the areas in which you could do better. So here goes, a list of things I would like to improve about myself. Oh boy, this should be interesting.

Sam's List of Things to Improve Upon
  • Writing on a daily basis; I try, but sometimes reading someone else's words is easier than writing my own. Okay, maybe it's always easier.
  • Admitting I'm wrong when I realize it; in case you didn't know, I'm very stubborn. Very.
  • Taking charge of situations; sometimes I can be a pushover, and I don't want to be.
  • Talking to and meeting new people; meeting new friends is always great, but also terrifying.
  • Learning to venture out of my comfort zone.
  • Voicing my opinions in public settings; when I'm around my family and friends, I barely shut up, (I have A LOT of opinions, you see) but when it comes to classrooms and other public places, I basically become incapable of speech.
  • Putting myself out there, taking risks, learning to be vulnerable. I tend not to want to try new things unless I know the outcome, which severely limits my opportunities.
  • Not being so hard on myself all the time, but also learning to use willpower.
  • Working harder to keep in touch with the people I love.
  • Not neglecting the important things or people.
  • Being healthier; eating better, exercising, the works. Ice cream, I wish I could quit you, but you're just so good.
  • Learning to be more empathetic and better at comforting people. You need someone to listen to your problems? I'm your girl, I can listen like no other. But when the tears start flowing I just kind of stand there, not knowing what to do, except give them an awkward pat on the shoulder. Hugs are not my strong suit.
  • As mentioned above, hugs. I'd like to improve my hugging skills. It's an important skill to have, I think.
  • Getting involved. Whether it be in school activities, family activities, friend activities, or life in general. I'd like to be more involved in my own life, if that makes sense.
So their you have it, though I'm sure I could think of many more things to improve, this is good enough for now, I think.

List #12...Favorite YouTubers

Hey there! Sam here.

Sorry I haven't been posting as many non-lists lately, it's been a busy couple of weeks! But hopefully soon I'll have more time to devote to posting things besides lists. : ) In the meantime, I thought that this week I'd talk about something I've been kind of obsessed with for the past year. That's right, YouTube. I had known about the existence of YouTube and had been using it to watch music videos for a long time, but just in the past two years I stumbled upon the universe of vlogging and vloggers and I haven't looked back since. For those who don't know, A vlog is basically a blog (like this) only in video form and people all over the world can make vlogs about their lives and post them on YouTube for others to watch. Getting into watching YouTube vlogs is actually what inspired me to start this blog and maybe someday I'll actually have the courage to turn this blog into a vlog, but we'll see. So anyway, I thought this week I'd give you a list of all of my favorite YouTubers, some who vlog and some who don't, so that way you can check them out if you like. I hope you do, they're all pretty hilarious, fun, great people and I tend to talk about them like I know them since I watch so many of their videos. Anyway, here they are! I'll list them out using their YouTube channel/user names and then I'll list their actual names next to it.

Sam's Favorite YouTubers
  • The VlogBrothers...aka my favorite author John Green and his brother Hank Green
  • charlieissocoollike...Charlie McDonnell
  • ZeFrank
  • danisnotonfire...Dan Howell
  • KickThePJ...PJ Liguori
  • crabstickz...Chris Kendall
  • It'sGrace...Grace Helbig
  • OMFGIt'sJackAndDean...Jack Howard and Dean Dobbs
  • JacksGap...Jack and Finn Harries
  • Olan Rogers
  • ThatcherJoe...Joe Sugg
  • Zoella280390...Zoe Sugg
  • ItsameMyleo...Myles
  • BertiebertG...Bertie Gilbert
  • DiCasp...Caspar Lee
  • PointlessBlogTV...Alfie Deyes
  • Troye Sivan
  • BriBryontour...Brian O'Reilly
  • SourceFedNERD...fun times

  • The Vamps...they're a band. Check 'em out.
  • HolyLoowis...he's a musician. Check him out.
  • Mamrie Hart
Needless to say I watch a lot of YouTube...probably too much, but I don't care. Hope you check out these channels, they're pretty awesome and over half of the people in them are from the UK...can you tell I like the UK? A lot? Because I like the UK. A lot.
