List #13...Always Room for Improvement

Hey there, everybody! Sam here!

For this week's list (I know it's a little late, but better late than never, right?) I thought I'd touch on the subject of improvement. After all, no one on this planet is perfect and we could all always use a little improvement in our lives, whether that be improving ourselves, or the people and places and things around us. It's important to learn to love yourself, but it's also important to know your weaknesses and the areas in which you could do better. So here goes, a list of things I would like to improve about myself. Oh boy, this should be interesting.

Sam's List of Things to Improve Upon
  • Writing on a daily basis; I try, but sometimes reading someone else's words is easier than writing my own. Okay, maybe it's always easier.
  • Admitting I'm wrong when I realize it; in case you didn't know, I'm very stubborn. Very.
  • Taking charge of situations; sometimes I can be a pushover, and I don't want to be.
  • Talking to and meeting new people; meeting new friends is always great, but also terrifying.
  • Learning to venture out of my comfort zone.
  • Voicing my opinions in public settings; when I'm around my family and friends, I barely shut up, (I have A LOT of opinions, you see) but when it comes to classrooms and other public places, I basically become incapable of speech.
  • Putting myself out there, taking risks, learning to be vulnerable. I tend not to want to try new things unless I know the outcome, which severely limits my opportunities.
  • Not being so hard on myself all the time, but also learning to use willpower.
  • Working harder to keep in touch with the people I love.
  • Not neglecting the important things or people.
  • Being healthier; eating better, exercising, the works. Ice cream, I wish I could quit you, but you're just so good.
  • Learning to be more empathetic and better at comforting people. You need someone to listen to your problems? I'm your girl, I can listen like no other. But when the tears start flowing I just kind of stand there, not knowing what to do, except give them an awkward pat on the shoulder. Hugs are not my strong suit.
  • As mentioned above, hugs. I'd like to improve my hugging skills. It's an important skill to have, I think.
  • Getting involved. Whether it be in school activities, family activities, friend activities, or life in general. I'd like to be more involved in my own life, if that makes sense.
So their you have it, though I'm sure I could think of many more things to improve, this is good enough for now, I think.

Love & Chaos,
Sam
